Vastelaovesbeelde in Limburg

Leon Hamans and Hans Simons took the initiative to put together a special book in which all carnival statues and carnival-related objects in the open air in Limburg are depicted and described in both standard Dutch and the local dialect. The book 'Vastelaovesbeelde in Limburg, van de Mookerhei toet Eijsde' features more than 220 carnival statues and nearly all Limburg dialects. In this way, the book records the beauty and diversity of our Limburg culture, language and art for future generations. It is a cultural travel guide through the entire province.
