When WordPress is a good choice
For every project we give honest advice on which CMS fits. For new builds we often choose Statamic, but WordPress is the better choice when:
- You want or already have a WooCommerce store
- You deliberately want to work fully open source, without licences
- Your team already knows WordPress and prefers to keep working in it
- Your current site runs on WordPress and a renovation makes more sense than a migration
The problem is never WordPress itself, but how it is built. A clean build on a well-considered stack is fast, secure and pleasant to manage.
How we build WordPress
No off-the-shelf theme with a thousand options, but a custom theme on a stack we have refined across more than a hundred WordPress projects:
- Custom theme with Timber (Twig templates) and Tailwind: clean code, every design detail exactly as intended
- ACF (Advanced Custom Fields) for flexible content blocks: your team manages the whole site in one consistent block editor. We have used ACF from day one and hold a lifetime licence
- Small, fixed plugin pool: Yoast for SEO, Polylang Pro for multilingual sites (deliberately not WPML), Contact Form 7 or Gravity Forms for forms. No plugin jungle, so no surprises with updates
- Full page cache with WP Super Cache, made by the makers of WordPress themselves: fast load times and strong Core Web Vitals
- Periodic updates, tested before they go live, with security monitoring and daily backups
Everything becomes your property, built on standard technology and fully documented. Any party can take it over, though we naturally hope you stay.

Not if it is done properly. We preserve the URL structure where possible, set up redirects for everything that changes and carry over metadata. Your rankings stay intact.
