WordPress experience, honest advice

We built WordPress sites and custom plugins for years. We still use that experience for maintenance and migrations, but for new projects we deliberately choose differently. Here is why.

Our WordPress background

Before fully switching to Laravel and Statamic, we built with WordPress for years: complete websites, custom themes and custom plugins. We know the platform from the inside, including its pitfalls.

That experience still helps you today:

  • Assessing your current WordPress site: what is going on and what is the sensible next step?
  • Untangling stuck plugins or custom work from a previous developer
  • A safe migration away from WordPress, preserving content and findability

Why we no longer choose it for new builds

WordPress can do a lot, but years of maintenance reality were disappointing: plugins that conflict, updates that are exciting instead of routine, and security that demands constant attention because the platform is such a big target.

With Laravel and Statamic we build sites and applications we still enjoy maintaining ten years on. No plugin roulette, but an admin environment that does exactly what you need. The same story applies to webshops; see the WooCommerce alternative.

This is not dogma. If your organisation runs fine on WordPress, we will simply say so.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

To a limited extent: we help existing relations and sites we assess with a migration in mind. For structural WordPress maintenance we would rather refer you to an agency that works with it daily.

Usually yes. We read the code, document what the plugin does and advise on the sensible route: repair, rebuild or include it in a migration.

That depends on the size of the site and the custom work inside it. The WordPress migration page explains our approach. After a conversation you get a clear quote.
