Online Natuursteen
Web shop with a custom product configurator for Online Natuursteen: from square metre configuration to a DXF file on the saw and a desktop app on the shop floor.

The European materials stand for premium quality, which has made custom work Online Natuursteen's speciality, allowing fast and affordable delivery throughout the Netherlands. Collection at centrally located depots is also possible. The aim: making it as affordable and easy as possible for the customer.
For Online Natuursteen we built a web shop with an advanced product configurator: customers compose natural stone to size in square and cubic metres, including finishes and a top view. For configurations too complex to order directly there is an approval flow: the customer submits a request, Online Natuursteen approves it and the customer checks out with a fixed shopping cart.
The challenge
Selling natural stone to size meant emailing, sketching and sending quotes back and forth. Every order then had to be translated by hand into instructions for the sawmill. That process had to go digital, from request to saw.
Our approach
A configurator in which the customer sets dimensions, finishes and a top view and sees the price immediately. The order automatically generates a DXF file for the saw. For complex configurations we built an approval flow, and for the shop floor a desktop app (Mac and Windows) that fetches paid orders, documents and cutting files through a secured API and prints them automatically.
The result
The customer configures and orders independently, the sawmill receives production-ready files and nobody retypes orders anymore. The quoting process for standard custom work has been eliminated entirely.
