One web platform for web shop, workshops and online academy: two separate WordPress environments brought together on Laravel with Filament.
Sokkertantes (Paintertainment) sells face painting supplies, runs workshops and offers online courses. All of this ran on two separate WordPress and WooCommerce environments that had grown organically and become hard to manage.
We are bringing everything together on one custom platform built on Laravel, Filament and Livewire. Customers get one account for the web shop, workshops and academy; internally there is one admin environment for orders, planning, stock and marketing. The platform handles physical products, workshops with attendee lists, digital courses with protected videos, bundles, gift cards and discount codes, with Mollie for payments, DHL label generation for shipping and ActiveCampaign for marketing.
The challenge
Merging two organically grown WooCommerce shops with around 415 products, workshops, course participants and gift cards into one platform, including an access structure for the academy (annual students, temporary access, renewals) that standard web shop software does not provide. And it has to stay up during the carnival season peak.
Our approach
Custom development on Laravel with Filament: product types for physical items, workshops, digital courses, bundles and gift cards, a personal learning environment with per-course access rights and an order dashboard with packing slips and DHL labels. All data migrates from WordPress and WooCommerce in a controlled way.
The result
One platform, one account for the customer and one admin environment for the team. The separate environments and plugins are history; new product types and automations are now an extension instead of another plugin puzzle.
